NPS Up and Go Show – Episode 1
Posted by leakeysblog in Children's work, NPS Up and Go Show, tags: news, videoMiss. Leakey is lucky enough to work with a great group of Year 5 and 6 students who form the schools ICT team. The team have just started creating a news show where they learn the skills of script writing, filming techniques, uploading and editing videos including adding text, visual and audio effects and credits. They are also developing an awareness of the complicated world of copyright!
Enjoy the show!
This is their very first episode and I thought they did a great job. After watching it, they’ve already begun to think about how they could improve for next time but would love to know your thoughts on what you liked and how they could improve.

Great job chaps,
I am in a real hurry this morning up at 5:20am, so the fact that I watched your whole show tells you how good it was. I liked the variety of content and the generally enthusiasm and quality behind what you did. As I say I am in a hurry so quickly notes for improvement:
1: Mic sound could be better, this is always a problem, especially outdoors.
2: You also appeared to be reading script of to one side of the camera, align the script with the camera. There is a programme where you can auto cue your script on a laptop, I’ll send the address to you.
3: posting on schooltube would mean we could see this in English schools, right now we can’t access youtube in school. However I will hopefully spend some time reposting your post on my site, because I would like to share it with my older children to show what can be achieved … you guys are really outstanding and it would be great to Skype with you when we win the Rugby World Cup! … ok just English humour.
Cheers

Hi!
Hard to believe that was your first programme – great job! I liked the variety of the items and the way you linked them together. I thought it was a good idea to add some weblinks so that the viewer could follow up if they wanted to. I thought the presenters explained things well and I liked the video clips – the dancing was great – some budding stars! Things for next time hmmm…I thought sometimes you spoke a bit quickly – remember some of us from overseas will need to tune in our ears to your accent and it would help us if you spoke a little more slowly. I wasn’t as keen on the radiator as background for the presenters – some of the backgrounds were much more interesting especially to me who doesn’t know your school at all.
I look forward to future reports!
